Wreck Beach Talent performs at the "Made in Vancouver Festival" during the 2010 Games

Hollywood, illustrious Made in Vancouver Festival Program Director and Organizer for all  the incredible Wreck Beach talent showcased and provided during this amazing 2 week event , pictured here with an appropriately dressed Olympic supporter .

A note from Hollywood...When friend Dina from "Life Changing Events", first mentioned the "I Heart Van Art" ~ "Made in Vancouver Festival" to me, I jumped at the chance to participate and support the 2 visionaries behind the idea.  I also thought it was a perfect opportunity to pre-launch the WBC website, as we were all focused on similar project ideas in support of  local Arts and Entertainment.  Against all odds, these two, young, 20 something women,  decided to produce an event during the 2010 Games, showcasing a full spectrum of all our local Vancouver talent, despite the fact Yahoo had withdrawn their funding support for the project.

The MIVF event involved a huge commitment and hundreds of personal volunteer hours that were put in by myself as Program Director for the 2 days of the 15 day event I was responsible for, that would feature WreckBeachCanada.com and a huge selection of our Wreck Beach talent. Dina of Life Changing Events, along with the MIVF organizers Dianna David and Charity Zapanta as well as  many others, also put out innumerable hours of time over a 3-4 month period, as the vision slowly came to fruition.  There were countless obstacles to overcome, as the City of Vancouver kept throwing out curves and the actual program and staging plans, both up front and behind the scenes, began to unfold in the most industrious and ever creative ways.

Yet regardless of all the Universe threw at them, these 2 young "I Heart Van Art " visionaries, managed to pull off what few would attempt to take on. Masterful and thorough, I give the finest blessings and kudos to these ever thoughtful, kind and acknowledging women  who showed all of us more seasoned event coordinators, the way to put on an event with love, consideration and foresight for everyone involved, no matter how difficult it became at times.

Through the tears of both joy and challenge, their vision was held clear for all to step into and was a fabulous success with many things learned and appreciated by all who were involved.  I would not hesitate to be a part of the next big project these incredibly talented women set their sights on.  Blessings Visionary goddesses Charity Zapanta and Dianna David...you are one incredible team!

Thank you to all the wonderfully talented Wreck Beach performers who also donated their time and creativity to make the MIVF a raving success, that was so much fun to be a part of!

Hollywood and WreckBeachCanada.com, along with co-sponsor Life Changing Events, have been working very hard volunteering behind the scenes for several months in support of the co-creation of this event.  Working in collaboration with I Heart Van Art, producers of the MADE IN VANCOUVER FESTIVAL we will be showcasing incredible talent from Vancouver 's Arts and Culture community at large. Everyone has volunteered their time for this event. The result is seen on either the Main or Interactive Stages and as Street or Roving Acts also during the height of Olympic action in downtown Vancouver .

Bring your Community spirit, especially Wed. Feb. 24 and Thurs. Wear your most outrageous, wackiest diggs, as this is what this show is all about...freedom of creative expression. We doing surprise Flash Mobs both days, so participate! What is a Flash Mob?  A large group of people arrive incognito at an event.  At a designated time or signal, on cue, they dance, wave arms or whatever is planned, in amongst the audience.  Sound fun?  Text us your phone # now to our email with Flash Mob as the subject and we'll get you details!

Join us in this once in a lifetime opportunity showcasing our incredible Wreck Beach talent while the world is watching!

Hollywood's Lineup & UP TO DATE PROGRAM SCHEDULE... Full schedule Feb. 13-27

Wreck Beach Community we need your support!  Our entertainers and volunteers are unable to get away for food and warmth throughout these two days.  Therefore, we need donations of sandwiches, snack foods like chips, nuts, granola bars, water, juices, hot coffee, tea, chocolate,  mini handwarmer packs or the likes, as we have to pack everything in and time and space is limited.  Please wrap individually and label sandwiches if possible.  Drop off anytime at our merch tents located just beside the stages.  Thank you in advance!  Printable version of this 2 day program

Think of this as your site...

This co-creative endeavor is a massive project, so we welcome all your ideas, photos, videos, musical expressions, artistic endeavors, healing arts, love letters, stories, newsletter contributions and anything fun that is Wreck Beach related worth sharing. As the collection of your contributions comes together, we will sift, sort and blend it into an ever-evolving expression of inspiration for everyone.  Within each page on the links above, you will see an index filled with ideas of how it may be developed.  Some of these hold  lofty goals and include long term plans, as our attitude is, "Hold the Vision Clear and See Who and What Shows Up."  So as we gain momentum to facilitate the process with your generous donations, physically, financially, spiritually and creatively, this loving community project will come together.  If you feel motivated to participate by co-creating any of the areas noted on the site, by all means let us know, as there is lot's to do and we are happy to give credit as long as we have final edit!

We so look forward to your support in whatever way that looks, as YOU are one of the many special pieces that makes Wreck Beach Community what it is.  So don't be shy, start brainstorming and send in your ideas as soon as possible.  We welcome your contributions.
