Biography...
Tim
Heller grew up in Victoria and then moved to Vancouver to pursue music.
His first childhood band was Noisemakers and his very first
"real" band was Underground.
Tim began working in the film industry as
a lighting technician. Tim also picked up some minor acting roles
beginning with General Hospital and is very proud at having
worked in over 30 feature films. He was privileged to work with the likes of Robin Williams, Robert de Niro,
Al Pacino, and even his favorites Ringo Starr and Jack Nicholson.
During this time Tim gained the experience of lighting for rock videos,
and one of these videos went to
Number One on Much Music.
Tim's successful film work enabled
him to purchase recording
gear, allowing him to learn the art of recording. In the process of
this endeavor, he was robbed of most of the equipment which temporarily set
Tim back. Once the gear was replaced, the "Never Leave it
Too Late" CD was eventually produced, formerly under the name of Mojo Filter.
As it seemed there were many bands using that name, it was changed to Rock
Voodoo and re-released.
Currently producing a video for the song Sunset
Blvd, this endeavor found its roots while Tim
was in Los Angeles,
shooting scenes along Sunset Boulevard, completing the principal photography in
Vancouver on 35 mm film. Tim is now in the
midst of developing, filming
and editing the video.
Tim Heller singer, songwriter started this
Vancouver based band in 2008. An
alternative rock, funk, blues band, their first
gig was June 2008 at the Anza Club. He is the lead singer, guitar player and songwriter of
over 100
original Rock Voodoo tunes of all styles of Rock. Much of
the new material is especially centered on vocals and
harmonies.
Recording and Producing the album, Never Leave
it too Late, among other projects, Tim is a
master of many hats. Playing benefits such as Jammin' for Justin
(for autistic stem cell
therapy), the Cancer Institute and the Wreck
Beach Christmas Party Fundraiser, Rock Voodoo
was also one of the featured bands playing at
the Made in Vancouver Festival during the 2010
Games in Vancouver BC.
