Sarah is a bright and shining energy that lights up every room she enters.

I first met Sarah on Wreck Beach in 2009 and immediately connected with her very free-spirited nature.  She always seems to see the best in others and pulls them out of themselves by giving them permission to share themselves. 

Sarah is not afraid to push the envelope in her performances by giving her all in every moment.  She brings life and inspiration to others she works with.

Even in light of some very challenging times in her life, Sarah managed to find the positive light in everything and everyone, seeing each person as a gift in her life and awareness.

Personally, Sarah totally inspires me in many ways. I enjoy witnessing her sometimes outrageous antics, costumes and expressions, as she gives others permission to play full out too. 

This is exactly what Wreck Beach is all about...silliness, playfulness and unbridled talent spilling over into days of sunshine, music and community.

Sarah can be found on Wreck Beach most summer days, jamming with others, sharing her powerful voice and personal magic with everyone she comes into contact with.

If you need some amazing inspiration and juice one summer day, just listen for Sarah and let her wild and free-spirited nature lead you into your own self discovery of joyful communion with life.

A bit about Sarah...

Sarah Flanagan was born in the Yukon. Her parents were squatters on a trap line who lived in cabins they built by hand.

She discovered the joys of musical expression very early while she wandered freely in the rugged terrain of Canada’s North. Much of her childhood was spent singing and making up songs while she ran through the bushes with her pet wolf.

Today she still retains some of that wildness in her fertile creativity as she develops songs, scripts and story ideas.

Partly raised in Riverside California, she was a  former successful child actor in TV commercials. Her musical skills were honed very early while participating in school plays. She also toured with her own band in bars and nightclubs while still underage.

Since then Sarah has spent several years singing and playing professionally in overseas venues while touring Hong Kong, Miami, Indonesia and Australia.

Sarah was classically trained from a very young age and her musical tastes have grown.  She enjoys folk, has  performed  Jazz and Blues on cruise ships and performs heavy and classic rock that  mostly favours.  Sarah is currently the lead vocalist for her band "Remedy" and "The Retrosonics."

Song writing influences come from such artists as Jethro Tull, Donavon, Joni Mitchell, Sarah Vaughn, The Beatles, Cream, Led Zepplin and Alice in Chains.

When she’s not performing at a gig, you can find Sarah up in the mountains or on Wreck Beach, singing her heart out. 

Sarah continually writes music and is truly living  her childhood dream of being a professional singer.

This co-creative endeavor is a massive project, so we welcome all your ideas, photos, videos, musical expressions, artistic endeavors, healing arts, love letters, stories, newsletter contributions and anything fun that is Wreck Beach related worth sharing. As the collection of your contributions comes together, we will sift, sort and blend it into an ever-evolving expression of inspiration for everyone.  Within each page on the links above, you will see an index filled with ideas of how it may be developed.  Some of these hold  lofty goals and include long term plans, as our attitude is, "Hold the Vision Clear and See Who and What Shows Up."  So as we gain momentum to facilitate the process with your generous donations, physically, financially, spiritually and creatively, this loving community project will come together.  If you feel motivated to participate by co-creating any of the areas noted on the site, by all means let us know, as there is lot's to do and we are happy to give credit as long as we have final edit!
